All of the granites that we use have been carefully measured to establish the modulus of elasticity, allowing us to comply with the federal specifications and user requirements.

STANDRIDGE granite surface plates provide an accurate reference plane for work inspection and for work layout. Their high degree of flatness, overall quality and workmanship also make them ideal bases for mounting sophisticated mechanical, electronic and optical gauging systems. The size and capability of our modern facility allows us to manufacture to any custom requirement.

4-Ledge Granite Surface Plate   

The overall flatness specifications of STANDRIDGE Granite products meet and surpass the requirement set forth by Federal Specification GGG-P-463c. This publication defines the three standard grades of tolerance for surface plates as follows:

For high precision operations in consistent temperature gauging rooms and metrology departments

For general use in quality control areas

For shop work and production checking

The repeat measurement specification limits variations in the surface of the plate, which results in greater measurement accuracy. All STANDRIDGE Granite plates are manufactured to meet or exceed repeat measurement limits specified by Federal Specification GGG-P-463c.

Thicknesses on all STANDRIDGE plates are calculated at 50 lbs. or better per square foot loading, which is the accepted rating in the Federal Specification GGG-P-463c. In situations where higher or lower loading conditions are anticipated, STANDRIDGE can modify surface plate thickness to meet virtually any requirement.

A STANDRIDGE "Calibration Certificate" is included with every surface plate guaranteeing overall flatness and repeat gage measurements. STANDRIDGE two accuracy certification is traceable to N.I.S.T. with ISO 9002 certified quality system.

Prevent abrasive build up on your precision surface plates with STANDRIDGE surface plate covers. Each cover is made of heavy gauge dark red leather-like vinyl with a soft inner lining.

The black granite used for STANDRIDGE surface plates is stronger, denser and less absorbent than other granites. This makes for a plate that is more stable and wears longer.

 


Because of the stiffness of STANDRIDGE black granite, accuracies can be guaranteed with less thickness than other types of granite. The result is that you pay less freight and handling whenever the plate is shipped or moved.
